Anticipation

Well here goes nothing. I have now officially entered the blogging world. T-minus 4 days until I leave for the Holy Land! In my mother's words, I am "kicking it into high gear" as I get ready to go. I have been getting everything ready and packing my 1 suitcase (which can be no more than 50 lbs.) for the next four months! I don't know how I am going to do it! When I left Rexburg to come home, I packed my entire wardrobe into a measly 8 suitcases, most of which I wore this past semester. To go from 8 suitcases worth of clothes to 1 is going to be rather difficult!

I have been doing some research on Jerusalem and have done some major damage at a few stores around town, hunting down all of the supplies I need for the upcoming semester, including 3 burkas... just kidding! I started laying everything out on the dining room table and began to worry about it all fitting into 1 suitcase!

Thankfully with the help of my parents, the master packers, we got it all in with 5 lbs. to spare! Sometimes I think they are more excited for me to go than I am! Just see for yourself...

When I found out that I was accepted to the Jerusalem Center in January, it seemed like April 27th would never get here and now it is only a few days away! I can practically taste the falafel, hummus and olive oil as I am writing this. I can not wait to see what lies ahead this summer as I go on countless adventures through Israel, Jordan and Turkey!

Shalom,
Emily

P.S. Hopefully I won't have too many oil sheiks trying to woo me over there... I hear they like blondes.
